STEM - Learning spaces

1. flexible learning space design

STEM learning spaces are particularly effective when they are designed for a variety of activities such as team-based projects and hands-on learning. However, limited space is a challenge for some schools. For example, sixth-grade science and seventh-grade math classes may take place in the same room at different times. Teachers therefore need to be able to quickly adapt the room layout before and after lessons.

2. Mobility

Mobility is a key aspect of the flexible design of learning spaces. Tables, chairs, desks and whiteboards should be equipped with castors so that students can adapt the room to their needs.

Lightweight furniture on castors allows the room to be rearranged quickly and easily. The floor covering also plays a decisive role here: furniture is difficult to move on carpeted floors. Wooden or concrete floors are therefore ideal in STEM learning spaces. They not only support mobility, but are also ideal for robotics programs.
