Sustainability
Our vision for a sustainable future
Sustainability as a corporate philosophy
Flötotto, a family-owned company with a long tradition, stands for high-quality furniture that combines functionality, design and durability. Our aim is to design learning spaces that are aesthetic, comfortable and sustainable at the same time – without compromising on quality and environmental standards. With innovative, sustainable solutions, we combine ecological action with economic success. This approach begins with product development, continues with responsible material procurement and is evident in energy-efficient production processes – all in order to make a positive contribution to the environment and society.
At Flötotto, we don't produce throwaway furniture with a built-in expiration date, but valuable everyday companions that last for generations and are useful for a long time. Because almost every single part, every screw, every element can be repaired, replaced and reordered – even decades later. This also means that we continuously reduce the amount of energy and waste in our production by focusing on reuse and recycling.
resource-efficient production technologies
We use the latest technologies to manufacture our products in order to minimize energy consumption. Our production processes are continuously optimized to reduce emissions and protect the environment. This is how we ensure that our school furniture is not only sustainable in its use, but also in its manufacture.
Promotion of the circular economy
A central component of our sustainability strategy is the circular economy, which we consistently implement in our manufacturing processes. Using our 100% polypropylene shell as an example, we show how sustainable design and resource efficiency can be realized in a closed-loop system. Our shell is exemplary of our commitment to the circular economy. Polypropylene is an excellent sustainable material because it is both durable and fully recyclable.
Our commitment
Flötotto puts its ecological responsibility into practice and goes to great lengths to achieve sustainable changes in both its products and production. Our goal is to create furniture that will last for generations while also meeting our environmental goals. This path requires patience and diligence, as we plan for the long term and do not let ourselves be led by short-lived trends.
