Spatial openness offers the opportunity to make the school day more dynamic and adaptable. The well-being and enthusiasm for learning among students improve. Everyone feels more relaxed.

Our goal is to drive forward contemporary educational developments, center the focus on learning, and rethink the concept of school. Open learning landscapes make a powerful statement in redefining what we know as traditional schooling. Open learning, differentiation, and individualization create new spaces and situations that meet the varied needs and unique learning paths of students.

The idea that a space can inspire learners to pursue their educational goals independently, with autonomy and creativity—ideally setting their own objectives—deeply resonates with me.

FLÖTOTTO’s ACTIVE and FLEX collections support this approach by creating environments where both learners and facilitators feel comfortable, enabling them to design spaces and adjust them to their individual needs. Open learning spaces are never “complete”; they should remain flexible. They evolve and adapt to students and the specific subjects being studied, continuously accommodating new demands.

At the heart of new furniture development is a focus on freedom of movement within a space and the flexibility to shift context, surroundings, situations, positions, and perspectives. I want to enable rotation and reorientation which literally lead to solving a problem. Spatial openness allows for a more dynamic, adaptable school day, fostering greater well-being and enjoyment in learning. Everyone is more at ease.
